The process of crushing is done through hammering action on the feed material across the breaker plates or a grinding section. Primarily, the material is crushed by impact force and further moves down in the crushing chamber where it is exposed to crushing by shearing and attrition. The size of the required product is managed by the gap adjustment between the hammer tip circle and grinding jib.
The hammer mill is constructed using two hinged grinding walls, a multiple section top housing, a rotor assembly with swing hammer mounted on arms or without arms along with grate bars (depending upon the application). If the arms are present, hammers are mounted on it. The top housing is easily swung open mechanically or hydraulically for maintenance purposes. For Hammer Mill designed with a grate bar, the upper half of the grinding wall consists of bolted grinding jibs and the lower half consists of grate bars. High-quality alloy steel castings for hammers and grinding jibs are used for achieving higher productivity at minimal wear and tear.
The equipment is propelled by vee belts and jackshaft or directly connected with gearbox and fluid coupling. On special requests, we also provide the equipment with variable drive systems.
