• Prohibit the temperature rise of lubricating oil.
When choosing the right chambers for your crushing needs, it is important to have a wellgraded feed to the chamber. This feed should pass 90 to 100% of the closed-side feed opening, 40 to 60% of the midpoint, and 0 to 10% of the closed-side setting. Never install a new concave liner or mantle in a crusher that already has a concave lining, as this will alter the cone crusher's profile and decrease tons per hour.
A cone crusher must always be choke-fed in order to maintain the highest levels of capacity, gradation, and cubical output. A surge bin (or hopper) and feeder that are placed before the crusher work best to maintain a choke-feed to the cone crusher. Without a hopper and feeder, it is nearly impossible to achieve choke-feeding.
